Tell us your vocation story.

A couple of years ago I spent a few minutes each day praying about what God wanted me to do in life. I’d ask Him about my vocation and spend some time in silence. After having prayed like this for a couple of months, I was sitting in church before mass started and the idea of being a priest came to me and I felt like it fit very well. Since then the idea of being a priest has stuck with me.

What is the greatest challenge facing a man considering the seminary?

The climate in general is not oriented towards religious aspirations, let alone giving one’s life to the church. I think it’s a challenge to be different in such a radical way from friends and family who may not be religious or understand why someone might join seminary.

What is your favorite Psalm verse and why?

Psalm 23. This Psalm shows the tender love that God has for us and how gently He cares for us. He is our shepherd and He will lead us; we have nothing to fear.

What are your favorite activities outside of the seminary?

I enjoy reading, sports like basketball and tennis, carpentry, spending time outside, and music.

Where do you like to go pray?

The Adoration chapel at St. Mary’s Visitation.

Where do you do your best studying?

The library.

Which saint should people ask to intercede for your vocation?

St. Matthew.
