When I was a Junior in High School, I didn’t know what career path to pursue. Certain aspects of political or military careers attracted me but always left me unsatisfied. They lacked something. Soon, the Holy Spirit led me to consider the Priesthood. The thought of devoting my life to Christ’s flock brought genuine excitement, so I contacted the Archdiocesan Vocation Office, and after a year of vocation talks, seminary dinners, summer camps, and college visits, I’ve never been more eager to begin my Priestly formation.
I believe the greatest challenge facing potential seminarians is the allure of married life. Every healthy Catholic man should indeed yearn for married life; it’s our natural vocation. However, Christ calls some men to share in his Priesthood, a supernatural vocation far greater than us. To reject our Lord’s offer is tragic.
“In vain do ye rise before the light: rise not till ye have rested, ye that eat the bread of sorrow” - Psalm 126:2. Apart from simply sounding epic, this verse reminds me that even when Catholic life is tough, life outside God’s grace would be worse due to its futility.
I love hiking, rock climbing, and watching good movies.
I like praying alone in thick forests and small chapels.
At my bedroom desk.
