Tell us your vocation story.

I am blessed to be born into a Catholic family and raised with the faith. As a Catholic man, I want to take the possibility of being called to the priesthood seriously as it is a legitimate and great vocation, not to be ignored. I have been led to this point in my discernment after much prayer and conversation with priests and those close to me.  While there has never been any super profound moment where I knew God was calling me to be a priest, there was enough reason for me to give God something more to work with and enter seminary.

What is the greatest challenge facing a man considering the seminary?

The fear of what they could be missing out on. A wife and children, “freedom,” the dream life, etc. Sometimes it can be daunting to think of the great responsibility that this vocation entails. However, we can take comfort knowing that God will provide for our needs daily and purify us into the men we are called to be, in spite of our many weaknesses.

What is your favorite Psalm verse and why?

Psalm 37:3-4, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; so you will dwell in the land, and be nourished in safety. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” These verses are a powerful reminder of the fulfillment we receive by trusting in the Lord and following in His ways. This psalm is refreshing to hear as it affirms that the desires of our heart will be satisfied by the Lord, and not by anything else.

What are your favorite activities outside of the seminary?

I enjoy playing basketball and other sports, being out in nature, and bonding with friends.

Where do you like to go pray?

Before the Blessed Sacrament, or wherever I happen to be.

Where do you do your best studying?

The library.

Which saint should people ask to intercede for your vocation?

St. Augustine.
