Tell us your vocation story.
From a young age, my journey toward discerning diocesan priesthood has been fueled by a deep-rooted faith and a passionate desire to serve. Growing up in a devout Catholic family, my catholic education and involvement in church ministries and various leadership roles nurtured my call to serve God and His people. The unwavering support from my friends and family both at home and in Church strengthened my resolve and deepened my commitment. Witnessing sacred ceremonies like episcopal, and priestly ordinations as a child also inspired a lifelong aspiration to the priesthood. Despite life's challenges, my faith has remained steadfast and resilient. Motivated by a profound sense of love, humility, and gratitude, I am dedicated to this sacred vocation. I am eager to make a positive impact and embrace the path ahead with unwavering faith, hope, and optimism for the future and see where God leads me.
What is the greatest challenge facing a man considering the seminary?
The greatest challenge, I think, is the fear of being a sign of contradiction. In these times of a nihilistic and pluralistic post-modern society, among the many malaises and vicissitudes of life, one called to embrace this sacred path may find it daunting to uphold traditional values and commitments that run counter to prevailing societal norms.
What is your favorite Psalm verse and why?
Psalm 46 v 3: “Therefore, we will not be afraid though the earth is shaken, and the mountains tumble into the depths of the sea.”
This psalm unequivocally and succinctly echoes the beauty, truth and splendor of having an unwavering and deep faith in God. With such a consciousness, we can rest secure like Christ did when he was on the boat, and the stormy winds came.
What are your favorite activities outside of the seminary?
I love to take walks, listen to music, hang out with friends, watch movies/soccer, or play games.
Where do you like to go to pray?
I think I love to pray most in any outer, quiet space, especially one that allows me to walk down the paths. This way evokes and reminds me of the reality that in this life, we are always on a journey.
